EVENTS & DONATIONSBright Futures School
Bright Futures School staff and pupils are always busy raising funds in order to further equip our new school now we have moved in. So far we have purchased an immersive sensory room, 5 touchscreen TVs, new furniture, and electrical equipment for our new kitchen. Our Sponsored Walk around Hollingworth Lake in September 2019 raised around £2,500.
In addition, we have been very grateful for charitable donations and discounts from local businesses which together with funds raised from future events will be used to fund playground and gardening equipment including raised beds and a forest school area and storage shed.
Projects & Donations
Here at Bright Futures School, we are always looking for new and innovative ways to improve and enhance the facilities for pupils. Our major focus at present is to finance the equipping of our new school in Greenfield, Saddleworth with facilities which will enhance the pupils’ learning opportunities. So far we have provided a multi sensory room and touchscreen TV’s as well as an outdoor playground.
Some of our previous projects (in our last premises) included: the refurbishment of the old ‘rabbit room’ into a nice, bright new classroom for one pupil; the transformation of the garage into a colourful soft play area for the younger children to enjoy; the development of new outdoor learning facilities and the provision of additional sensory equipment to enable pupils to have quiet time during the school day, if they needed it.
Our current fundraising projects are focussing on resources and equipment for our future new premises in Greenfield. We are very grateful to the Co-op Community Fund for previously accepting FBFS as one of their charities and, to date, we have received over £6,000 from their members. Some of this money has been used to fund the laying of artificial grass and a play area for our younger pupils. Our last project (now immensely enjoyed by all pupils) was to equip the school with 6 pieces of outdoor sensory gym equipment. These can now be seen in the courtyard and the younger pupils play area and have been deemed a great success!
Any donations or offers of help or specific items for the new school will be most appreciated. Please contact our office if you can help in any way. Thank you!
We have recently raised sufficient funds to purchase our own mobile defibrillator and all staff have now been trained to use it (although we are hoping we don't have to!)
We have a Go Fund me appeal to support parents of pupils and prospective pupils at Bright Futures School who have to go to SEN Tribunal to challenge inadequate educational provision in their child’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). If you would like to make a donation, please contact Zoe Thompson at school.
Thank you for your support.
